So here are a couple of triaxial weavings that I made and have found there way to the CHH sale in cards.
These ribbons looked lovely together and after I got them home I found that the purpley one was actually a gauze. Well after a bit of disappointment, I went ahead and used it and love how the color looked over the maroon ribbon. So first is the piece in progress.
I like thinking when looking at the first two rows done that it looks like geese in flight. Then as the third row progresses the geese become the cubes. Not sure if there is a lesson there but almost sad to see them change.
So here it is completed. The colors are close but not as beautiful as in real life. Of course that is me speaking. But anyway it found its way into a couple of cards.
Now instead of doing the cube pattern this one was the star pattern. Did you ever want to drive yourself crazy? Sparkly shiny ribbon in this pattern will do it. You can’t see the layers easily at all. This is two layers where above you can see the geese flying. Here it still looks the same as with one layer. It is dead hard to make sure you have gone over and under the right pieces when you can’t hardly see the edges.
But, thank the Lord, I did manage it without any mistakes. That is me without any mistakes. I was amazed but it all came out and the spacing was even good for it. You just can’t see all the in your face reflection and sparkles in these photos.
So here are two completed cards that are also on sparkly paper. These really will set your eyes all a glittering. My husband did think it was a bit much but they still found their way to the sale and will see if anyone else finds them attractive.
